We have reached the point where life has stopped giving and has started taking. But what remains are the treasures of life. A clearer vision of life, no longer easily swayed, no longer needing to respond to everything that comes our way, no longer threatened, intimidated, forced to conform.
I like these words by Tennyson. This is what we could be, should be, can be.
Though much is taken , much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To search, to seek, to find, and not to yield
